In 2007, Shalan Stained Glass was commissioned to restore “The Good Shepherd Window” for St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church in Hillsborough, North Carolina. The window was removed and transported to our studio where we documented existing conditions including the efforts of a previous poor restoration. New perimeter glass was added to the bottom section of the window so as to resize it to its original opening. The window was then releaded and reinstalled with its original setting detail. The project was completed in March 2008.

“We asked Glenn and his firm to make a thorough restoration of the oldest stained glass window in our church. He performed the work beautifully and on schedule, taking care to conserve and to document the existing glass and to make judicious repairs and restoration to worn and deteriorated areas. Moreover, he was able to correct for a badly executed prior installation. We couldn’t be more pleased.”
